Beijing 4th day

Its S'pore's public holiday today. How envy ! I still have to slog in Beijing. ;(

Last night, my colleague brought me to 隆福寺大街 shop and walk through the old royal houses now turned shops. It was indeed an old street, with all the run-down houses. Managed to buy a Hacken Lee's karaoke VCD for Sean Yeo and a pair of socks to keep myself warm.

Thereafter, we went to 后海大街 to eat at a traditional restaurant. We ordered 巴斯(香蕉,土豆,山药和苹果),鲈鱼粉丝,糯米莲藕,炸酱面和面圈圈。Will delicious indeed. Will post up the photos to show later.

After dinner, we walked to 后海 and walked along the river (Lotus River Bank) . Many pubs and bars lined the banks of the river. Noticed that the pubs mostly contained live band shows. And a distinctive feature is that, a group of pubs with people chinese songs (like our 民歌餐厅)lined one side of the bank. While the other side lines the modern and hippest pubs n bars. We saw many roadside stalls selling lanterns... very beautifully-made traditional small lanterns. Wanted to buy a few but afraid that my luggage bag cannot hold cos those lanterns cannot be folded. As we did not able to negotiate a satistfying price, we decided to give up.

It was nearly 11pm when i reached the hotel. Quite tired but relaxing, at least i had a breakaway from the hectic work in the office.
