Met an ugly incident
Alright, my husband and i had our dinner at BPP this evening. It was the usual "Sw******" restaurant which we had always frequent. But an ugly man casted a dark side of our happy dinner. I hope this man is not a S'porean, else i will be very disappointed being a citizen of S'pore for his ashamed behaviour.The whole incident happened like this.
We were happily carrying our 3 bank books to the ATM machine for updating. While we started queueing at the "P***" ATM, there were a queue infront of us. We've queued for about 10mins when this man in his 40s (i think so, as i would not want to take note of him) started to stand behind us. To start with, he was talking to his friend who went to the other ATM machine to withdraw $$. I couldn't understand very clearly what he was saying as he was speaking in Hokkien. It was something like "I had alot of $$ in my pocket, so i must faster deposit into the bank account"... alright fine... none of my business. But mind you, we were not evesdropping, he was simply shouting like crossing the road. So who would not have heard it on the instant. Then my husband happened to remember that he needed to topup his cashcard. So he took the opportunity to pop over to the other ATM machine, when he saw no queue there. It was just a short 3mins (or less than that) transaction, and he rejoined me in the queue. When it was our turn to update our bank books, we heard the man shouting at us "Oei, you jump queue!" We were damn furious instantly. We turned back "We are together one hor!" You know what, the man was simply too thick-skinned. First of all, he didn't apologise for mistaking my husband for jumping queue. Secondly, he started mumbling conversations with people behind him in the queue "Aiyo, how i know they are together one har?" For goodness sake, i noted that the other people in the queue also didn't want to start the conversation with him, and it was his own words all the while! Seriously, i would have striked up a quarrel with this man. But i didn't. I turned to stare hard at him after our short transaction had been completed.
Why i didn't strike up a quarrel? I wouldn't want to start a foolish conversation with a foolish man infront of a public. My time and efforts are precious. And for him, only a quote can describe "庸俗的人, 只会做庸俗的事". As for me, i will not be "庸人自扰"! :)
If this man is really a S'porean, i hope he belonged to the minor society. If not, our taxpayers' $$ would have gone to a waste by feeding these type of people. But more importantly, i hope he is NOT (实在是丢脸人).
